Art has ruled my world for over 20 years. My favorite thing to paint are landscapes, natural scenes, and pictures pre-1920. I love to experiment with different styles with several ongoing themes. Don't expect the typical art show displays here.  One comment I always hear from folks, is how many styles I have, one friend joked about multiple personalities.  I didn't take that as an insult, already realizing, that via art I show many different facets of my personality. 

Along with my love of painting and drawing, I have collected alternative comics for years, and consider graphic novels and comics a hobby.  With many artists ranging from Peter Bagge, Harvey Pekar to Chris Ware for inspiration, I have kept my own journals in comic form with a cartoon character based on myself.  She is simple in form but fun to have drawn for 12 years. I am the first person I've ever known who has kept their diary in visual form...

  You can see my character right on this page.  After this many years of practice, I have decided to draw out some pages for portfolio and try for a comic book either published elsewhere or DIY style.

Speaking of the "DO it YOURSELF" style, in Fall of 2006 I had a successful art show where I priced the art for real people, served up some food, and had a blast with friends and acquaintances in my last loved small town of Hillsdale, MI.

I sold so many paintings, today, having to replace them to have some to sell, I am working on a new theme, for another art show, next year? Who knows....but I know my new community of St. Joseph, has many potential venues and a thriving art community so this should be no problem.

In my past, I taught art to incarcerated youth even with one student winning a national art award, and finding the hidden talent of many troubled young people. Since then,  I have done independent/informal art classes with adults and children. Holding a degree in art education helped too.

Other artistic ventures I am involved in, include publishing an already written book, [plan to self-publish as soon as funds will allow] working on another, and writing poetry some of which have been turned into song lyrics by musicians I know.
