Cameron Music Group is a progressive music company operating out of Chicago with an international scope that focuses on directing independent music artists and recording companies to create markets and generate revenue for themselves. With the downsizing of major labels and the marriage between music and cutting edge technology, there’s no greater time for independent artists to lucratively benefit from the music industry. Cameron Music Group is a full service independent artist resource center offering services for artists and independent recorded music companies with an emphasis on internet-based and digital media. Meleneal Cameron, proprietor, has been described as one of the smartest managers in Chicago and an honest, classy and professional executive by many of her industry peers. Her philosophy is “Success is a team sport and no one can make it to the top alone – we are built for interdependence not independence.” With this understanding she established Cameron Music Group in and effort to assist and educate independents along every step of their career. CMG work-for-hire services include artist development, consulting, music production and marketing and promotions management solutions. Often clients will ask up front, what do you do and what’s the cost? Although CMG fees are independent artist friendly, nothing is set in stone, creativity is the key. It depends on where you are and what components you need to meet your goals from that point forward. Although her efforts are concentrated in working with the independents, she has also assisted major status artists such as Jamie Jones, formerly with All For One, Chris Brown and B5. She is a member of NABFEME, the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment, NARAS, the National of Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences the CMC, the Chicago Music Commission and the Interactive Marketing Association of Chicago.
