| Chriss Lyon Non-fiction writer Saint Joseph, MI Researcher/Historical Writer/Forensic Genealogist
Although my main career is that of a 911 Supervisor for a Public Safety Communications Center, my passion has always been historical research, writing and genealogy. As a Researcher/Forensic Genealogist, I primarily work with projects involving tragic loss of life where limited information may be available to locate current relatives of victims. This also may involve research beyond the people and into the tragedy itself using various forms of data compilation to either gain knowledge about something or to prove/disprove a theory.
My goal is to continue using research in this manner; to solve mysteries and answer questions including giving peace to those whose relatives may have been victims of tragic situations. My intentions are never to show guilt or dredge up negative experiences but only to be accurate and to bring information forward that may not have been utilized from past situations. I believe families are entitled to know the truth and future generations should have the knowledge we gain today from events of the past.
Past tragedies have included aviation and maritime as well as law enforcement related (serial killers and gangsters). Articles I have written have been published in Mafia History Journals, Maritime Newsletters, Historical Websites and various Genealogical Publications. Aside from appearing on local television news, I participated in a press conference in Washington DC and appeared in national and international news coverage in 2008 as well as an on-camera role as one of the experts in the PBS series, "The History Detectives" to air in the 2009 season.
My background includes videography and documentary production so I hope to continue utilizing my research skills to enhance the quality of historical documentary productions.
