The rich heritage of the people of Kodagu, the land the culture and the abundant natural beauty beckons every visitor to conserve this tiny district.
Adventure places in Karnataka for shoot:
Turahalli: A place which is situated off Kanakapura Road near Bangalore where you will find nice cluster of hills full of boulders.
Sawan durga: This is around 50kms away from Bangalore on MagaDi road.
New rocks: A place on the way to Banner Ghatta National Park from Bangalore.
Raogodlu: This place on Kanakapura Road at about 22kms from Bangalore.
Kabbal Durga: A hill on the way to Channapatna from Kanakapura.
Hampi: This place near Hospet was the key place of the Vijaya Nagar Empire.
Badami: Another splendid spot from North Karnataka.
Ram nagar: This is called Mecca of Rock climbers and is 40kms away from Bangalore on the way to Mysore.
Antara gange: A cluster of rocky hillocks in Kolar.
Chamundi betta: This place in Mysore is famous for its temple of Goddess Chamundi.
Kunti betta: One more place near Pandavapura, Mysore.

Kurumgad Island: Kurumgad -a tortoise-shaped island is located at a distance of 4 km from the mainland. The beach is famous for the hilltop Narasimha Temple where thousands of devotees throng the temple during the annual jatra held on Pushya Purnima every year in early January.
Bagalkote Back Water: Bagalkote City is the district head quarter of Bagalkote district. It is located on bank of Ghataprabha river. There are 3 major rivers namely Krishna, Ghataprabha and Malaprabha which flow in the district area. A gigantic irrigation scheme known as Upper Krishna Project Alamatti about 35 Kms away from Bagalkote City was completed with about 15 lakhs acres of land and Bijapur, Gulbarga, Raichur and Bellary Districts brought under irrigation. In this process hundreds of villages of Bagalkote district and large part of Bagalkote city are submerged in the back water of Alamatti Dam.
Hill Stations for Shoot in Karnataka
Nandi Hills: 60 kms north of Bangalore is the summer resort called Nandi Hills. Also known as Nandidurga, it was one of the summer retreats of Tipu Sultan. Nandi Hills was popular with the British too who built bungalows and laid out gardens here. The 1478-m high Nandi Hills is the originating point of many rivers.
Kemmanna Gundi: In the Tarikere Taluk of Chikmaglur District is a picturesque hamlet- Kemmannugundi, also called K.R.Hills, after the Wodeyar king Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, who made it his favourite summer camp. Situated on the Baba Budan range at a height of 1,434 m, Kemmanugundi is the ideal place to get away from the heat and dust.
Madikeri: Madikeri is a picturesque, charming town situated at an elevation of over 5,000 ft (1,525 m) above sea level. The cool bracing wind whips the hair about your face as you ramble along streets that dip and rise delightfully. Breathtaking views surprise you unexpectedly. Beautiful women smile at you from pretty cottages as you sniff appreciatively the heady fragrance of coffee blossoms.
Biligiri Hills: 120 kms from Mysore and 247 kms from Bangalore, the Biligirirangana range of hills is picturesquely situated between the Cauvery and the Tungabhadra rivers. At a height of 5,091 ft above sea level, this hill stretches from north to south for about 16 kms. Surrounded by deciduous trees, the forests are teeming with wildlife.
Kudremukh: The Horse-Face Hill Station 95 kms south-west of Chikmaglur town is the Kudremukh (Horse Face) range, so named because of the unique shape of the Kudremukh Peak. Overlooking the Arabian Sea, the broad hills are chained to one another with deep valleys and steep precipices. Kudremukh is a secluded hill station, which retains much of its pristine, natural beauty.
Baba-Budan Range: To the north of Chikmagalur town is the Baba-Budan Range or Chandra Drona Parvatha as it was known in olden times, which has one of the highest mountain peaks between the Himalayas and the Nilgiris. The loftiest point of the range is Mullaiyanagiri which is 1,926 meters above sea level. The three large caves here said to have been sanctified by 3 siddhas contain their icons and ‘gaddiges’ (tombs) and an annual jatra is held here in their honor. The enthralling scenery around makes this a much frequented pilgrim center. Seethala Mallappana Kanive to the left side is said to have been hallowed by Sidha Seethalaya and contains a Matha and the dual shrine temple of Seethala-Mallikarjuna. The Baba-Budan range has taken its name from the 1895 meters high Baba-Budan Giri, situated just 28 kms north of Chikmagalur town.
Beaches for shoot in Karnataka
Malpe Beach: About 6 kms from Udupi is Malpe, an ideal shooting spot with its virgin beach. The endless stretch of golden sand, graciously swaying palm trees, the clear blue sky and the gurgle of the sea. Malpe is famed for its silvery beaches that offer breathtaking views of the sea. An idyllic resort for boating, fishing and bathing the town lies around 386 km from Bangalore.
Murudeshwar Beach: Situated between Honnavar and Bhatkal, 1 km off the National Highway is the scenic holy place of Murudeshwar. The place is believed to have been sanctified by a piece of the Pranalinga of Mahabaleshwara thrown by Ravana and has some beautiful carvings and statues. Bounded by the shimmering sea and rolling hills. With the roaring sea to the west, the towering hills to the east and the coconut and areca groves nearby.
Dev Bagh Beach: If it wasn’t a natural beach, Dev Bagh could have been a designer beach. designed for effortless unwinding. Technically, Dev Bagh is a promontory, connected to the mainland by a narrow strip of an isthmus. Dev Bagh is an island cut off from the world. And what a gentle, lonely, island.
Gorkarna Beach: Gokarna, on the other hand is, essentially, a paddlers' beach: wet saris, rolled up trousers, and screams as the surf silvers in.
Trasi Beach: One of the Planter and his wife, driving past one day many years ago, fell in love with this beach, bought land in a grove, planted a cactus fence to demarcate their land from the strand, and in course of time, built Turtle Bay Resort.
Ullal Beach: It's on the outskirts of Mangalore and served by the green, serene, Summer Sands Beach Resort. The resort's architect-owner has designed it like an exclusive little colony of tiled cottages served by a long, palm-shaded, road. It's comfortable, quiet, has its own swimming pool.
Bhatkal Beach: Famous Bhatkal Beach is situated at a distance of 16-km from Bhatkal and 126 km from Karwar. Dotted by the composed blue seas and majestic hills, this beach is a well-liked tourist spot and identified for the beautiful temples.
Maravanthe Beach: aravanthe Beach is 50 km from Udupi. The endless stretch of golden sand, swaying palm trees, clear blue sky and the flow of the sea attracts a large number of tourists to this spot.
The Om Beach and the Kutle Beach: The Om Beach and the Kutle Beach nearby to Gokarna. Literally meaning the cow's ear, this town is formed by the ear-shaped confluence of two riversbelief is also that the place derives its name due to Shiva emerging from the ears of the cow.
Gardens in Karnataka for Shoot
Brindavan Garden: The Brindavan Garden is a show garden that has a beautiful botanical park, full of exciting fountains, as well as boat rides beneath the dam. Diwans of Mysore planned and built the gardens in connection with the construction of the dam. Display items include a musical fountain.
Lalbagh Botanical Garden: The sprawling 240-acre botanical garden houses some over 1,000 species of plants including some 100-year-old trees. The construction of Lal Bagh was started by Hyder Ali in 1760 and completed by his son Tippu Sultan. Currently the park hosts a deer park, aquarium, a lake and a small rocky hillock on which is sited one of the city’s four Kempe Gowda Towers and also a Glass House. Another highlight of Lal Bagh is the Rose Garden; this has almost all the species of roses available worldwide. The Lal Bagh Rock, one of the oldest rock formations on earth, dating back to 3000 million years, is another attraction.
Cubbon Park: Cubbon Park in Bangalore was laid out by Richard Sankey, the chief engineer of Mysore, in the year 1864.The park has some wonderful collection of statues. they spread across the whole stretch of the park. One of the major attractions of the park is the statue of the 19th century ruler Chamarajendra Wodedeyar (1868- 94). This statue is located near an octagonal bandstand overlooking the pond. Marble statues of Queen Victoria and Edward VII are also kept here. There is also a public library named Sheshadri Iyer Memorial in the middle of the park. The building of the library is red painted and is Neo- Classical in style. The colorful landscape of the Cubbon Park wonderfully brings together the rock cut statues and the huge canopy of trees. Cubbon Park, located 2 km from M.G. Road, expands across 334 acres of land.
Kariappa Memorial Park: The Kariappa Memorial Park in Bangalore was laid out in 1996. This park occupies a portion of the parade ground between M.G. Road and Cubbon Park. This park was laid in the memory of Field Marshall K.M. Kariappa. The 22 acre stretch of the park is divided into six segments. There is also an entrance plaza and a seven feet high monolithic monument of Kariappa. There is also a wonderful man-made waterfall and a pond to attract birds to Kariappa Memorial Park. Maintained by the various divisions of the Indian Army.
The Doda Alada Mara: Dodda Alada Mara is a giant Banyan tree located in the village of Ramohalli, approximately 28 kilometers west of the city of Bangalore. This single plant covers 3 acres and is one of the largest of its kind. It is said to be at least 400 years old.
Bannerghatta: Bannerghatta National Park established in the year 1971, lies 22 km. away from Bangalore. It covers around 104.27 sq.kms which includes ten Reserve Forests of Anekal Range of the Bangalore Forest Division. Bannerghatta comprises the National Park, an Aquarium, a Zoo, Children's park, Crocodile Farm, Snake park, Prehistoric animals park and a Museum.
