Nicole Jackson McClinton - Vocalist
Barry Burford - Vocalist
Influences: Music is the Ministry of Maurice: the group was formed in August of 2002 in the basement of Lilydale Missionary Baptist Church, in Chicago. The group was formed out of the hopes and prayers of it’s leader Maurice Jackson. Maurice was anointed by God in 1974 in Detroit, Michigan while performing with one of the nation’s top vocal groups “THE INDEPENDENTS” (most of The Independents music was characterized by a combination of Soul and Gospel sounds, produced by the late Rev. Marvin Yancey) when he experienced a spiritual revelation that altered his POP singing career. He returned to Chicago where he began to work in the ministry beside his father, the late Rev. Dr. Lawrence R. Jackson. Rev. Felicia Jackson, born in Greenville SC. raised by mother Evelyn Hurst and Chris Hurst in Chicago, IL is the daughter of another legendary performer (singer, songwriter, producer) Chuck Jackson, formerly of “THE INDEPENDENTS”. Felicia was called to the teaching ministry in April 1992, and the ultimate call to preach the Gospel came on September 4, 1992. God has incorporated music in every aspect of her life. Felicia has recorded with Southern University A&M Interdenominational Gospel Choir in Louisiana; Tyrone Dickerson & Christian Fellowship Choir of Nashville, TN, Union Evangelistic Church Choir of Chicago Heights, IL; Felicia has recorded as a background vocalist for many artists; as well as recorded on "You Can Sing Gospel Trax" as a lead vocalist in Nashville, TN. Felicia is committed to ministry, prayer, and praise. Felicia has a love for Praise & Worship; and the Anointed Word of God! Felicia is an active participant as Associate Minister of Centennial B.C. of Chicago. Felicia has one beautiful daughter, Jocelyn whom she adores very much. Loysanne Jackson-Mahone has a great love for Gospel music and God’s people. She is most passionate about her love of God and singing. Loysanne is the daughter of Maurice Jackson. Loysanne grew up with music all around her, and she developed a love for the beauty, sound and peace Gospel music provides. Loysanne performed on TV38, Christian Broadcast Channel, with Jerry Rose, as well as Rock of Ages with the late Isabelle Joseph Johnson. Loysanne’s singing ministry has taken her beyond the prison walls to Cook County Jail, Joliet Prison, Statesville Prison, and the Salvation Army. Loysanne is excited about her future in Christ and is determined to press to the mark of the high calling, for God and for his people. Nicole Jackson McClinton is also the daughter of Maurice Jackson. A health education specialist, Nicole earned a Bachelors Degree in Community Health Education from Eastern Illinois University. Nicole sang in a Gospel choir from 1994-95 at Eastern Illinois University; she was also the co-founder and co-editor of a newsletter called Umuada, founded to uplift and inspire Black Women. Nicole also served as President of Sister To Sister, a Black Women’s community service organization. Nicole was part of the Indigo Theatre and was featured in several plays including “Colored Museum”, “Fences” and The Day of Absence”. Nicole also enjoys songwriting, and singing lead and background vocals. Barry Burford Singer, tenor-baritone, is a Mental Illness Substance Abuse Consultant (M.I.S.A.), Co-founder of The Knowledge Corner, which treats Consumers with mental illness, and substance abuse concerns, using the Word of God, and teaching the Consumer how to write their own treatment plan, and work their personal program. Barry also owns several other companys. Barry attended Chicago’s Harlan High School. Harlan was brimming with talent. At that time, Harlan was a lot like the “Fame School” in New York. Harlan was full of singers, dancers, actors, poets, such as The 5 Stairsteps, The Sequins, The Cassadons, Actress, Author, Director, Tina Andrews. Entertainment was going on all day everyday. Barry attended University of Illinois, and sang with The Nathan Schaeffer Corral. Barry, his brother Kevin and Charles Reilly formed the vocal group Nimbiss and the record label Shy-Backe Records. Nimbiss made several recordings, music videos, and performed in Chicago and New York. Barry is also an Engineer. Barry is committed to helping people and in sharing the Word of God, and believes that the more you give of yourself, the more blessed your life becomes. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed the tracks, and if you ever decide a "remix' is in order... Be sure to look me up!
