Hello, my name is John but, my online music friends call me OTOTEK.  "OTO" means sound or noise in Japanese.  It's just me, my instruments and gear, and a computer with a few programs on it.  I started playing music at a very young age.  My first memory is of me playing my father's Casio CZ5000 synth when I was about 2 or 3 years of age.  I have not looked back since.

I have played in many bands including my current one called "The Room Mothers"...at least that's what we're called now.  But, I have never been alone doing the music thing and trying to make something out of it untill now.  My first instrument is and will most likely always be the keys.  I love playing them.  Pianos, synths, organs...anything with keys I can play.  I also sing from time to time and play a few other instruments as well, although I can only play them because I can play the keys, if you know what I mean.  I am pretty good at picking up an instrument and learning the basics of it really fast.

I grew up listening to classical music and film scores and later on was introduced to all the other kinds of music of which Electronica, Ambient, Shoegaze, New Wave, and Stoner Rock are my favorites (along with the classical and film scores).

  I like to make music that is the score to moments in people's lives.  Even though a certain moment in time may not last for more then a second, it may make you feel very strongly about something or someone.  That is what I want people to get out of my tunes.  That same feeling they got when they lived that moment in their lives.  So, whatever you take away from my music, if it makes you remember something as though it were in a movie, and it gives you that same feeling again when you hear it, no matter what that feeling may be, then my job is done.
