I'm Timothy Ferguson, bass guitarist, singer, songwriter for psychedelic band The Red Plastic Buddha. We're currently recording our debut EP Sunflower Sessions at Strobe Recording in Chicago and we're looking at a Spade Kitty Records release date of March 2007.

Our sound is somewhat anachronistic, drawing influece from such 60s bands as Love, Syd's Pink Floyd, the Soft Machine, the Action and Creation but we're fully updated, amped and wired for the modern age. Modern influences would include Brian Jonestown Massacre, the Warlocks, and Olivia Tremor Control.

I came to music late, waiting until the age of 30 to pick up the bass. Two weeks later I was playing with Eleven 20 Nine and I was hooked. I've played with Sub Rosa in the 90s, The Me Decade and Hop on Pop as well as acted as producer and arranger for the Pralines Song of the Day Cafe.

Everything good in my life happened because of music, from meeting my wife Pamela Richardson (of the Pralines) to the many friends I have made since. So who says rock and roll can't save your life?

We will soon begin hosting Psychedelic Saturday featuring the Red Plastic Buddha and special guests (club still being finalized). This series of events will be a place to showcase local and touring talent who create trippy music and need a safe place to play in front of an appreciative and understanding audience.
