Groove Fusion (Formally "the replacements") are a Classic Rock & R&B Dance Band perfect for Parties, Weddings, and Outdoor events. We play such hits as Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison, What I like about you by the Romantics, and Soul Man by the Blues Brothers.

Started in 2000 the band was formed in order to provide music for local church special events and Sunday Services. (Groove Fusion currently play secular music). Because of family reasons our band disassembled. The Band recently reassembled itself in December of 2006 and performed at Scott’s Grill located at Jack London Square Oakland California. Playing for a packed dance floor again was exhilarating.

The members of the Band as seen in our photo left to right are Rod Trevino (Bass), Justin Marlow (Drums), Shawn Cannady (Guitar), and Bert Bie (Keyboard). Since then we have added additional members including Chris Mamalanga, (Drums) as well as Leroy Spicer (Lead Vocals). More Pictures will soon follow. The members of the band are not just business partners but long time friends of 12 years or more. It is a great joy for me personally to partake in something this uncommon with my friends.

The Replacements are all locally from the Oakland/Hayward California Area and until now have solely performed in the Bay Area. The Replacements former Alias names have also been “The Messengers” & simply “The Hayward Band”.

For me personally I’d say Music is a very powerful force that can change the entire mood of an audience. Music is a deeply spiritual thing that can drive away negative emotions and bring out the best in those it touches. When playing for a packed venue I've seen quiet rooms changed into a party atmosphere. People forget daily troubles and can enjoy life again with their friends. For me playing music is a great privilege because I believe I have a special gift to give that not everyone has, the gift of Music. I would consider it an honor to perform for your wedding or special event.
