For over 20 years, April has performed and instructed the art of dance in several genres, including hip hop, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical and ballet. April has competed in regional competitions, such as I Love Dance, Rainbow, Showbiz, Applause and Showstopper, where she won platinum and high gold medals for dance as well as for choreography.
In September 2007, April opened Civic Theatre's musical DreamGirls as a member of the Stepp Sisters. In this same production, she played one of the Les Styles along with other roles. In April 2008, April had the experience of working on 'the other side' of a community theatre production, when she served as Assistant Stage Manager for The Piano Lesson at Civic. Her favorite role was as an Acid Princess in The Who's Tommy at Circle Theatre (September 2008). Recently, she played Heather Wellington in The Awesome 80's Prom (The Theatre Project). April is a graduate of Davenport University, where she received a BBA in International Business. Fluent in Spanish, she has lived and worked abroad. April is the founder and owner of A.D.M. Tutoring, LLC, a business that offers private tutoring in various subjects for all ages.
