I was raised in the northwoods of Minnesota where I developed a deep association to the natural world. This connection is the theme which carries though all my work. I have left this setting behind, but it has never left me. To pursue new challenges, I left High School two years early and received an associate degree in liberal arts at the age of eighteen. This also gave me the opportunity to spend some time in Scotland before receiving my diploma. The next stage of my journey brought me to the Minneapolis College of Art & Design where I focused on illustration and graphic arts. There are many individuals who inspired and opened my eyes to a world of possibilities and I could never thank them all, despite my desire to do so. During my undergraduate career I had the priviledge of studying illustration intensively at the University of Brighton, on the south coast of England. This, above any other experience, was a catalyst for growth, both personally and artistically. Upon completion of my bachelor of fine arts degree, I began the preparations to move to Boston, where I would again be faced with new and exciting challenges. I will be welcoming each new experience with open arms, never forgetting where I come from.
