Chrissy K. McVay
Novelist
Little Switzerland, NC
Screenwriter/novelist/short story

I'm a screenplay writer/novelist living in Little Switzerland, North Carolina and enjoying the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains!

My screenplay 'Souls of the North Wind' is available to directors/producers/filmmakers and screenwriters for option/purchase.

A predator from the ancient past stalks men on the Canadian Tundra!  After a witch's curse, a creature thought to be only Inuit myth has returned to the lands of the Ihalmiut to spill innocent blood. Iksik and his cousin Kiviok must make a dangerous journey through the harsh Canadian wilderness in search of the Nattilik witch who inflicted the curse.  They soon discover they're being stalked by a legendary, yellow-eyed beast!
Mythic feel of the movie 'Pathfinder', the intensity of 'Brotherhood of the Wolf' and the family flavor of a Jack London adventure tale.

Screenplay available in PDF or hard copy upon request.

For purchase/option information please contact me directly at Chrissykmcvay@aol.com, or Entertainment attorney Andrew J. Contiguglia at: ajc@ajcpc.com (www.ajcpc.com)
* Screenplay version available to filmmakers/directors/producers/screenwriters upon request. Actor friends are also welcome to view script.

Novel version was a 'Silver' winner of the 2005 ForeWord Magazine's Book of the Year Award, 'Souls of the North Wind' is a fast-paced adventure set on the harsh lands of the Canadian Tundra during the early 1900s era. The main characters are based on the Ihalmiut band of Inuit researched by the Canadian writer, Farley Mowat (Never Cry Wolf) in his non-fiction books 'People of the Deer' and 'The Desperate People'.

Excerpt from 'Souls of the North Wind' novel:
Iksik ran to his cousin's side, grabbing up the wolf-head harpoon. At the curve in the trail a large shadow cascaded over the rocks...They heard the loud panting of the beast just before it rounded the corner, staring straight at them. A light breeze brought the overwhelming stench of its body. It was the smell of a beast that slept in its own filth. The long shaggy hair covering its massive chest was layered with the dried blood of old kills...

Review of 'Souls of the North Wind'
"Reminiscent of Jack London's 'Call of the Wild', her writing combines a gentleness of touch with a fine eye for detail...McVay's largeness of heart...is what really enhances a unique storytelling style that will burrow into reader's hearts..." Patrice Tappee, Rapid River Arts Magazine 2005.

Script version was a top ten finalist in the 2008 Movie Deals Screenplay contest.
