and you can't be perfect, but you can have a hell of a lot of fun being imperfect!
My pride and passion is my voice, though I'm not a classical or pop trained singer. More along the lines of Alanis, Tori, Bjork, tribal chant, choirboy stuff -- I run the gamut of those sounds.
I record on a mac -- if you just guessed that I'm another garageband-junkie-hack, you're spot on. And you know what? It's fun as hell.
I think the first time I ever recorded myself singing was when I was 8, with a thunker of a fischer-price tape recorder. I wrote lyrics and verse compulsively all through gradeschool right up through middle school and it was in high school that I developed the dream to have an album out before I turned 24. So the sad day came and I had just a couple of songs recorded, but there's full potential that I'll have an album's worth polished and ready for pressing before I make it around the sun again.
Most of my live performing experience has been through theater, where I've played all kinds of roles in all kinds of productions, favourites having been Janet in the Rocky Horror Show, and the Cat in the Hat in Seussical... there's really no high I've had ever that could compare to the rush of singing to a live audience. I live for that, I love it. I love entertaining, making people laugh, captivating them. And I'd really like to front a band someday, that's the dream.
I'm also quite skilled at the visual arts, and may at some point put up a graphic designer profile here, too. Currently, I'm wrapping up my BA in Graphic Design, to be specific. So... kind of a one-woman show here, when it comes to production and promotion of my music. And while I'm also a skilled amature photographer, my profile picture was taken by my friend Krysty of Radicalcats photography, look her up on myspace!
And and and... I love to sew, it's kind of my fun little occupational therapy thing that I do... if you look up DefChouette on etsy.com, that's my shoppe!
Thanks for stoppin' by! Drop me a line~
