In 1999, "Whatcha Got" co-written and co- produced by Morgan and Chris Rouse went Top 40 in Canada. It's inclusion on the top 50 Canadian CHR songs for 2000 and MuchMusic Video Award nomination, paved the way for his re-introduction as a self produced artist.

"Those included are not only selected based on merit alone, but selected on the contribution they have made to life in Canada". Elizabeth Lumley: Editor.
For Morgan Parkes, the stage has always been a place where he comes alive and feels most at home. "If you've never seen this guy live, you have to check him out. He tears it up!"- Tony Young (Master T), MuchMusic. His commanding interaction with the fans, his high energy and heat generated during his soulful jams have combined to earn Morgan the reputation of being one of the few artists who can deliver that which his recordings embody. reviews such as "Toronto based crooner Carlos Morgan puts the boots to the notion that Canada can't produce slick, sexy urban music"- SOCAN Words & Music: "Top R&B/Soul vocal stylist"- Billboard Magazine; "One of the best practitioner of R&B in North America let alone Canada"- Mike Bullard, CTV & The Comedy Channel.
Inspired by such music legends such as Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Nat King Cole, Luther Vandross and Barry White, Morgan Parkes's evolution brings him to the release of his second CD "Where I've Been, Where I'm Going" releasing 2010.
Morgan will be releasing his sophomore CD "Where I've Been, Where I'm Going" 2010. The sophomore CD will feature brand new songs that Morgan Parkes is writing, recording and producing with upcoming producers such as Camp Soul, PHS Productions and HITS Unlimited.
From all the many life challenges, changes and triumphs, Morgan's decision to go back to his "roots" and reclaim the name he was given at birth to signify and represent where it all started, will give the listener insight into the vulnerabilities, sensitivities, pain, anger, fear, shame, guilt, lies, abuse, abandonment and addiction that has plagued Morgan's life.
Having the creative control he desired, Morgan's vision to fuse the diversity of music genres that inspires him melding them with his R&B signature so there will be no mistake interpreting which genre Morgan calls home. Using his sizable vocal gifts, arrangements and ability to deliver multi-layered harmonies while utilizing his sing writing and production skills, Morgan/Parkes will succeed at making "Where I've Been , Where I'm Going" an album with international impact and appeal.
Diverse, like his influences, Morgan/Parkes works with some of the best songwriters and producers in the business today. From those whose track record comes with name recognition such as Mischke Butler (Michael Jackson, B2K, Spice Girls, Dwele and Houston) Matthew Gerrard (Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, David Foster) Stephan Moccio ( Celine Dion, Sarah Brightman) Perry Alexander (Shawn Desman, Kesha Chante, In Essence) Ceasaro Grant of Agape 181 and Colin Monroe of CDM Music;all producers to watch for.
These incredible, talented musicians and producers translate Morgan/Parkes music to the tangible on tracks like the neo-soul song "Break My Heart" communicates well it's title with it's timeless jazz sounds, the sorrow echoes in the hook delivered as only Billie Holiday can. Finallly for those wooed by his previous ballads, Morgan/Parkes does not disappoint in the delivery of the power pop ballads "Sweet As You Are" penned by Morgan and "Just Jane". These song are destined to be cross over hits.
Soulful, sexy and determined, Morgan/Parkes draws the listener in to his life and music. "Where I've Been, Where I'm Going" expresses Morgan/Parkes faith and belief that with God, love and forgiveness... all trials, tribulations, obstacles and challenges can be overcome.
When realized everyday that truth, love and forgiveness are the gateways to peace, Morgan will not only have you "Feelin' Alright" but he will also show you his willingness to show "Where I've Been, Where I'm Going". _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Carlos Morgan has just released two new singles from his forthcoming CD "Where I've Been, Where I'm Going".
