An explosive Latin Jazz ensemble, MANGUITO is sensual, energetic and oh so tasty. This ensemble was created with the purpose of providing Sabor Latino to the Twin Cities. Colorfully rhythmic Afro Latin jazz w/authentic Caribbean flavor touts influences of Son Montuno, Cha Cha, Salsa, Reggae, Rumba, Bossa, Samba, Afro-Peruvian, Funk, Ska, Bolero, and African music. The perfect band for all kinds of events, including parties, wedding celebrations, Latin-American festivals, nightclubs, restaurants, bars, theaters and corporate special events. Manguito all-stars represent some of the finest musicians in the Twin Cities: The brilliant JAVIER TREJO, guitarist/composer/leader of New Primitives, on vocals and electric/acoustic guitars. Master Classical, bossa, and jazz flute player ROSE RINDER from Ticket to Brasil. Extraordinary ELMAR ROMAIN from Salsabrosa and Mutant Frogs on the Bass. The eclectic JESSE MUELLER from the best of the funk/jazz bands in the Twin Cities, like Rare Medium and the Tesfa Quintet, on the keyboards. Outstanding Master Peruvian percussionist CHICO CHAVEZ from many famous local and international bands like Batak Tribe, Robert Everest Expedition, Trio Tipo, Nube, Ethiopian Fantastic Jazz Project, Sensacion Latina and founder of Salsabrosa's former incarnation, Mama Granuja.
