By way of explanation let me just say...
Feel free to scroll past my (admittedly self-indulgent) self-portraits - but please take a peek at a series of photographs I took during 5 different Los Angeles-Brooklyn cross-county trips (Aug 2003-August 2004). The self-portraits are not Narcissism gone wildly amok, as they may appear, but the gratification of a years-long fascination with pin-up art that began when my Marilyn Monroe fixation did during high school. As a photographer, it is often difficult to find like-minded models - hence the SELF in the portraits. Also - mind you - it is the indulgence of a wee tad of rebellion against the traditional actress headshot. How can standard, staid headshots say the things that can be said with skyscraper platforms, false eyelashes and cheap wigs? In short, they cannot. So, that said, please humor me.
