Singer-songwriter
Boston, MA
grooveless urban folk

I perform and record my (not so) unique brand of grooveless urban folk under the "band" name *daisy*. I just relocated to Boston (from NYC), and try to play music as much as possible "on the side." Check out the listings under "upcoming shows" to see where I'll be performing next.
I consider myself more of a songwriter, which is the part that I like the most. I generally spend a lot of time on the writing, which I hope comes through in the songs.

In March 2009, I released my debut album, a 5-song EP entitled, “So Cold.” I was really pleased with the results. After playing these songs over and over again in a busking, solo-style format, it was really fascinating to hear them grow into these big, full compositions in the studio.

Please click HERE to go directly to the songs in iTunes ($4.95).

Scott Lesniewski helped me in all aspects of the project—from creative new arrangements to fantastic performances on a variety of instruments. This record would not be nearly as good without him.

Same goes for Shane O’Connor, our engineer. From creative mic placement to nudging the nuances of our individual performances, Shane got more out of these songs than we could have done on our own.

For more information, please see my Web site: www.controlmousemusic.com.

And if you like this sound, you should hire Shane for your next studio recording. He’s on MySpace at www.myspace.com/ShaneOConnorRecording.

Thank you, and I hope you enjoy the songs!

CommentHello again everyone,
Please mark your calendars now. I’m playing another solo show:

L.E.S. Productions Presents
*daisy* LIVE at 169 Bar, Sat 8/25 at 9:30pm

This one will be a longer set, and I need to have at least 15 people there. IMPORTANT: Please tell them at the door that you are there to see *daisy* (with the stars) or Michael. Start rehearsing now so that it’s flawless by showtime. You have 4 weeks.

If you’ve never been to this bar, you should check it out. It’s a cool space with a relaxed vibe. Shoot some pool, check out some live music. You’ll be happy.

169 Bar is located at 169 East Broadway. Cross Street is Rutgers Street (Essex turns into Rutgers just south of Canal). Easy for you Brooklynistas – take the F train to the East Broadway exit. Admission is $10.

Can’t wait to see you there!
