A new face and name is quickly emerging in the music video scene. David Rousseau is a music video director from South Florida, and founder of CreativeSeen, a production company devoted to music video and commercial production. David transitioned into music videos after a successful career in broadcast television where he won four prestigious Emmy Awards.
This year, David has worked on several music videos. Among them, the recently-released “No Llores” remix by Gloria Estefan featuring Pitbull, which is slated to air on Mun2 and MTV Tr3s. The video, shot on location in Little Havana, is the first release off Gloria’s “90 Millas” Sony release. It incorporates images of spirituality and paints a true depiction of Cuban culture.
David also directed N.O.R.E.’s “Cocaine Cowboys,” off the soundtrack of the award-winning documentary of the same name. It was the first music video ever banned from MySpace after causing a stir for incorporating scenes from the documentary, which were deemed too violent. Nonetheless, it found other viral outlets and was viewed and downloaded more than 400,000 times on the net.
Also in 2007, David directed Latin rock band Tango 36’s music video, “Camino al Sol.” Cyloop.com, an international music community Web site, hired him to direct the video, which aired on Spanish television network Telemundo, MTV Tr3s and LATV. Yet another project David directed this year was the music video for “Slow Wind” a collaboration between Dominican sensation Fulanito and Platano. It will be released later this year.
Other projects David has been involved with include directing Pitbull’s “Be Quiet” music video, a track off his 2006 TVT release, “El Mariel.” In addition to his directing duties, David has collaborated on a few other high-profile music video projects including DJ Khaled’s “Holla at Me.” He also directed two music videos for South Florida rap artist Garcia, “Ahora,” featuring SoFla Kingz, and “I’ll Never Run.”Additionally, David served as a producer for multi-Platinum rock band Skid Row’s 2004 video, “Ghost” and for Las Vegas band Magna-fi’s release, “Where did We Go Wrong?”
David just finished directing a public service announcement spot for the non-profit, Voices for Children, which will air on South Florida television stations.
