Abstract, yet beginning with a representation of a space or thought, my art is about a specific place, but also about that space between reality and illusion. Writing, dreams, and sketches from my journal are departure points for themes in my work. The imagery alludes to the conflicting transitions and struggle between euphoria and darkness. My work evokes both an alienation from the world, yet at the same time a deeply felt influence by the surrounding environment. I paint to integrate the instability and elegance of the world, and seek to make a connection with the viewer.
