here were crayons and blank paper. There were slim plastic cases that held water colors. There was construction paper and glue. And Play-Doh (that melted in the rain). There was an easle.

Later there would be a 35 milimeter Spanish camera. Crayons gave way to pastels and charcoal. Old ball points from the bank became pencils and technical pens of varying widths and hardness. The paper got bigger.

There was also a GE VHS camcorder and a crazy uncle.

Then there were thick gobs of ink. We would squeeze it through silk screens and make designs on cheap tee shirts. We would drop it into the trough of a small off set press and stand back and watch as information was duplicated.

Now there are fast computers and programs that bring color to old drawings. Or make them dance. . .

The verbage above is more than just a list of tools. This is experience that you won't read about in the ole' resume. These are elements that have made me who I am. And a good part of that is an artist.

Oh, and don't let the your Play-Doh sit out in the rain.
