After retiring from the Connecticut Department of Correction in 2002, Geoff returned to his childhood interest of writing. With experience as a stage actor, he discovered the art of screenwriting, and it has since become his obsession. With six feature screenplays and several shorts completed, Geoff continues to write in multiple genres.
Geoff’s first screenplay, a horror entitled Rising Darkness, was a Quarterfinalist in the 2005 Scriptapalooza Screenwriting Competition. His thriller, Heart and Soul, placed as a Semifinalist in both the 2008 PAGE Awards and Scriptapalooza Screenwriting Competitions. His horror, Coopertown: The Devil’s Eyes, received an Honorable Mention in the Writer’s Digest Writing Competition in the same year.
Geoff wrote and served as videographer for his short, By the Book, which was produced by Elizabeth Cipollina in 2008. For 2009, Geoff worked with Elizabeth Cipollina as Associate Producer for the short, Truly There, worked as a videographer for Kato Productions documentary, LoliGirls, The Story Behind the Frills and Bows (Produced by Kate Slomkowski and Linsey Taylor), served as first camera for Producer Elizabeth Cipollina for the short, Deadline, which is in post-production. Geoff continues to work as an independent videographer on various other projects.
Geoff Saunders is the Organizer of the Middletown Screenwriters and Film Makers, the MiTown Film Group and has been a long time member of the CT Screenwriter’s Group.
