How We Collect and Use Information
Nextcat collects user-submitted information, such as names, email addresses, and ages, to authenticate users and to send notifications to those users relating to the Nextcat.com Service. Nextcat also collects other profile data, including but not limited to personal interests, gender, age, education, and occupation, in order to assist users in finding and communicating with each other.

Nextcat.com also logs non-personally-identifiable information, including IP addresses, browser types, profile statistics, and aggregate user data from users and visitors to the site. This data is used to manage the Web Site, track usage, and improve the Web Site Services. This non-personally-identifiable information may be shared with third parties to provide more relevant services and advertisements to members. User IP addresses are recorded for security and monitoring purposes.

User Profile information, including members' pictures and display names, are displayed in order to facilitate user interaction in the Nextcat Community. Email addresses are used for the purposes of inviting new connections to join Nextcat.com, adding users to member connection networks, and sending notifications related to Nextcat.com Services.

With the exception of inviting connections and sending notifications, a user's email address is not shared with or displayed to people within a user's personal network.

We may also use a user’s email address to send updates, newsletters, and/or satisfaction surveys, in order to help improve our Services. Users may choose to opt out of receiving these types of emails by going to My Profile > Account Info and de-selecting either "Send me the Nextcat newsletter" or "I’m interested in participating in surveys to help improve the site."

Sharing Information with Third Parties
From time to time, Nextcat or a trusted partner may sponsor promotions, sweepstakes, or contests on Nextcat.com. Users may be asked to provide personal information including name, email address, or home address, and may be asked to answer questions in order to participate. We may transfer personal information to certain partners from whom you have specifically and explicitly requested to receive information. It will always be clear at the point of collection whether it is Nextcat.com or a partner collecting your personal information, and also which privacy statement will apply.

Nextcat may need to share customer information with third party vendors and/or partners who provide services to Nextcat.com. These vendors and/or partners will have signed a strict policy with Nextcat, agreeing to use this information only within the scope of providing their service(s), and have agreed not to use such information for their own purposes.

We may be required to disclose customer information pursuant to lawful requests, such as subpoenas or court orders, or in compliance with applicable laws. Additionally, we may share account or other information when we believe it is necessary to comply with the law or to protect our interests or property. This may include sharing information with other companies, lawyers, agents, or government agencies.

Advertisements by Third Parties
Advertisements appearing on the Nextcat.com Web Site are delivered to users by advertising partners. Our advertising partners may download cookies to your computer. Doing so allows the advertising network to recognize your computer each time they send you an advertisement. In this way, they may compile information about where you, or others who are using your computer, saw their advertisements and determine which advertisements are clicked. This information allows an advertising network to deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. Nextcat does not have access to, or control of, the cookies that may be placed on your computer(s) by third party advertisers or other third party service providers.

This privacy statement covers the use of cookies by Nextcat and does not cover the use of cookies by any of its advertisers.

Minors and Children
Nextcat does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13 or allow such persons to register. If you are under 13, please do not send any information about yourself to us, including information such as your name, address, telephone number, or e-mail address. Children under age 13 are prohibited from providing us with any of their personal information and from using our public forums, unless they have parental consent. In the event that we learn we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us.

Removing Information
Nextcat users may modify or remove any of their personal information at any time by logging into their account. Information will be updated within a few minutes.

Members may also choose to delete their account by going to My Profile > Account Info and selecting "Cancel my account". Note that canceling an account will permanently remove all profile information from our system, including profile info, photos, comments, connections, fans, etc. Nextcat cannot recover this information once it has been deleted by the user.

Security
Nextcat.com member accounts are secured by member-created passwords. Nextcat.com takes precautions to insure that member account information is kept private. We use reasonable measures to protect member information stored within our database, such as encrypting passwords with 128-bit encryption, and we restrict access to member information to only those employees who need access to perform their job functions, such as our customer service personnel and technical staff. Please note that we cannot guarantee the security of member account information. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of member information at any point in time.

Changes to our Privacy Policy
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to change, modify, add, or delete portions of this Privacy Policy at any time without further notice. If so, we will post the changes to the Privacy Policy on this page and will indicate the effective date of the revised Privacy Policy at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Nextcat.com Web Site after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
