WELCOME

MILESTONES

In the late seventies, I began touring as a member of
Martha Reeves' Vandellas. I guess you can say I cut my show business teeth  though, with The Platters in the early seventies.  Since then I have worn a few more hats, including, author, playwright, songwriter, music producer, screenwriter and director.

Although I feel very fortunate to have worked, hung out and learned from a broad range of prominent groups and individuals, I am also very proud of the long hard road I have traveled as a solo artist. I am still touring, with Victor Stone and our Beach and Motown Band, The Risse. How dare me act so wonderfully like a kid at my "maturity"!

Like any mom would be, I am so proud of my son, "Pittboss"(above on right) and his partner "Novelist" (left). They have been featured on major movie sountracks including the title cut from "Crash" ("If I") http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=04865B94ECC04896and Mr. and Mrs. Smith and they have a new urban one-hour cartoon show starting on BET in April called Da Jammies (www.dajammies.com). visit
www.kansascali.com

RAFIEL/The other half of my duo is an extraordinary talent. Check out our performance of "I Will Survive"  with my audio presentation. We appear together  in various venues  and events in North Carolina.

I had my fifteen minutes, well maybe a little more, with my a self-titled album, "Jaisun" in the late seventies, after returning from a tour of the middle east with Martha Reeves. It was produced by William "Mickey" Stevenson who wrote,  Jimmy Mack, Heat Wave, to name a few (If only I had thought of them first, or maybe even the "pet rock", oh well). Cuts from my album are still being played and being sold all over Europe by Gremlins! I can't seem to catch them by the tail!  (That's another book!)

Speaking of books, In October, 2006, my first book was published titled, The Anatomy of A Woman Abused: One Woman's Journey . It was inspired by my stage play with the same title.

As a writer, I am very emotional about developing stories. I collect ideas from my own life experiences, tear them down and reconstruct them into characters that I hope the reader will feel they can almost reach out and
touch.

I am is very aware that the competition is tough in a marketplace crammed full of writers, but I have something to say, and I am going to say it!  I am very committed to creating an awareness about the
global issue of domestic violence. In The Anatomy of a Woman Abused: One Woman's Journey, I wanted women who live in isolation, fearing for their lives, to know that their plight is not forgotten.
