Jeff Jay
Producer
Central Islip, NY
Songwriter, Compose, Producer

A producer, A man. Who always thought outside of the box, in his love. His love, The Music.

Born in the Bronx, N.Y. Jeffrey Johnson a.k.a. “Jeff Jay” was born into a family of music lovers, and musicians. Brother Daryl Johnson of the now famed jazz band, The Daryl Johnson Trio. Uncle, Cal Brightman, a major songwriter of the sixties (“My Baby is in Love with Another Guy“), Plus, A host of others, who have inspired, and helped mold “Jay” into a marvelous study.

At the early age of 6 , “Jay” began picking up instruments, all of which are self taught.

Organ, drums, bass, and guitar. But, in those early years the drums were his passion. Playing, at family get togethers, behind neighborhood bands. “Jay“, quickly earned his name as “the boy with the sticks.”

As a young boy, who was so in-love with all facets of music. He began studying everything he could about music. Watching, and listening tediously to different artists, and musicians. He studied music theory through his school years. Learning composition, arrangement, and classic chord placement & structure. His teachers were amazed at how musically gifted he was, and would often times refer to him as Mr. perfect pitch.

As the emergence of Hip-Hop music culture came into play. He followed suit. Becoming a D.J. for the group, “That Impact”. And even though, he had been creating songs, and writing music since the age of 6. It wasn’t until his high school years that he fell in-love with the piano and really began recording, and structuring, the melodic sounds we all love today.

After high school, he took his studies from music creation, to the technical side of music. As his very soul wanted nothing more than to make a living as a music producer. He spent 2 years at the music engineering institute, ARTI . Which taught him audio engineering, and mixing. That allowed him the hands on experience of creating technically a project from start to finish.

Over the past 10 to 12 years, “Jay” has been featured on numerous projects from Pop, Gospel, Rock, Hip-Hop, and R&B. He is poised and ready to bring a new captivating, orthodox, sound to the music industry. To any established, or aspiring artist, or any Film/T.V project.

After years of preparation, experience, and training. “Jeff Jay” and JMXJC Production are ready to make your musical dreams come true.

HEAR…… FEEL……..& BE CHANGED
