 BIO

Joshua Mosley is an award winning composer & producer, for film, television, video games and recording artist . His music has been heard on projects for such clients as Sony, National Geographic, the CW Network, NARAS "The Emmys", and more. Mosley has collaborated with such names as two-time Emmy winner Hummie Mann (Year of the Comet, Robin Hood Men in Tights), up and coming director Paul Gordon (Teen People Magazines "20 Teens Who will Change The World") the UPN network, Dream Catcher Games, Hip Games and the Adventure Company.Joshua was born on May 18th, 1980 in Tarzana, California. His whole life he has been surrounded by music. Mosley stems from a distinguished background of musicians. His Grandfather, Robert Douglass, was a professional bassist and arranger who played with such a-list stars as, Tony Bennett, Lou Armstrong, and Peggy Lee. His band, the Chuck Miller trio signed to Capitol Records in the 50s and had a hit single "The House of Blue Lights". His Mother, Cynthia Mosley, daughter of Robert Douglass was a professional singer and now vocal coach. She encouraged him and taught him everything she new about music since a very young age. Joshua played piano and trumpet through his child and adolescent years, but it wasn't until after he graduated from high school that he knew he was destined for a career in the music industry.Mosley began to compose songs at the age of 18. His ambition and talent caught the eye of a talent manager in 1999. This provided and opportunity to write a demo song for an artist; who is now signed to RCA. In October 2000 Joshua started his professional career with Soundrama. During his time there he made many contributions in the industry and built a solid reputation for himself. There, Mosley got his first gig with Sound Transit; the leading transportation organization for the Seattle area. He went on to write for three national games; one of which is the official game of the US Navy, arrange for TV shows, and produce and release the successful R&B album, "Trademark", from artist Taylor Mosley. In 2001, Joshua went on to study under film composer Hummie Mann at the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program. There he increased his skills in writing, theory, film scoring and knowledge of the industry. In turn, this led to a professional and personal relationship with Hummie; working as an arranger under Mann's Music Supervision on two television projects. Hummie had this to say about Joshua's work as a composer, "Joshua Mosley is a creative young composer who constantly impresses me with the quality and diversity of his work. He is a very gifted individual who will make a mark on the industry in the years to come."Also in 2001 Mosley teamed up with up and coming director Paul Gordon (Teen People Magazines "20 Teens Who will Change The World") on an animated short. Paul was pleased with the quality of work that was performed and it lead to an on going collaborative relationship between the two; he as worked on eight national commercial adds for the Money Tree Corporation with Paul. Joshua was picked up in 2003 for representation in video game composing by Bob Rice; who is famous for representing the best composers in the game industry. Bob's agency has been the number one provider of music and audio to the game industry since 1992. Joshua is proud to be apart of Rice's roster. In December 2004 Joshua ventured out from Soundrama and founded Selah Productions LLC. It has proved clear that it was a successful move. Joshua has gone on to score many more projects and produce more albums. One of which is the critically acclaimed score to "Agatha Christie's: Murder on the Orient Express". "The score is majestic...", says Game Vortex, a leading game website. He has been a featured guest on a television show, and he has been honored with 7 Telly Awards, an Aurora Award and Apex Award. Joshua Mosley is a multi-faceted composer and producer with styles crossing over many genres. He is passionate and dedicated to his craft and shows great promise of being a major player in the music industry. Joshua currently lives in Bonney Lake, Washington. He is married to Reanne Mosley and has a daughter, Madison Rose.

CommentI'm a freelance writer and designer, so I work with a number of different developers. Most outsource audio because it's rarely cost effective to employ someone in-house. Unfortunately, I rarely get directly involved with the audio, apart from the recording of the voices.

CommentHi, Joshua. It's nice to add you to my ever-growing network!

Do you know people who find themselves occasionally in need of a "PRIVATE ACTING COACH"? Perhaps they have this big upcoming audition and they would really like an experienced pro to help them prepare for the audition?

If the above situations or something similar is something they find themselves in once in a while, please don't hesitate to have them contact me during their time of acting coaching need.

Incidentally, I also edit awesome "ARTIST DEMO REELS". Check out my profile for more info, video work samples, and peer endorsements. Thanks!
