| Kathleen Teresa Scott Actor Los Angeles, CA aka "Katie" Child Actress/Comedian~IMDb Professional~TV/Film/Stage credits (7-10 age range)
Update (Fall 2008): Katie's great summer included swim lessons, and an undefeated season of co-ed basketball. That experience led to her landing an awesome role as a basketball player in film in August. More details and links to that soon! She was also cast in her 3rd play for a lovely playwright in a new theatrical production in Pasadena. Original play premieres in mid-October. She's really looking forward to more projects that are meaningful in this blessed journey!! EXTENSIVE PHOTO GALLERY AND LINKS BELOW! BIO: Kathleen began her acting career opposite actor King Stuart, playing her mischievous grandfather in a Prego commercial. Eventually, "Katie", as she's affectionately called, was performing dinner theatre in her own home for family & friends almost nightly. So, a bit older and more aware of productions, she could appreciate the generous guidance of director Jackie Oudney, through Trio Films. She booked a United Methodist Church national spot as a the adorable, quirky kid with braids, reminiscent of Judy Garland, searching for red gummy bears & trailing a wagon behind her.
Katie is not a star struck kid with hopes of being "discovered." She works her craft. She works on herself as a kid who is willing to try and learn new things. She may really want each and every role she auditions for, but she is also strong in her faith. Keeps focused, and believes "GOD FIRST..." Anyone who meets her knows they get a genuine, caring and kind person. While learning her sides and making character choices is fun for her, it comes as naturally as playing basketball on a co-ed team for her current 3rd East Los Angeles team. She also loves tennis, horsebackriding, designing jewelry, writing, telling jokes and playing games with her friends.
Her memorable accomplishment was landing the small role of Leo & Piper's young daughter "Melinda Halliwell" in a show embraced by countless worldwide fans in television's "CHARMED. " Being a little Holly Marie Combs was too cool! That fall she also sealed humor as a part of her connection to audiences by performing live. She began stand-up comedy from her experience at The World Famous Laugh Factory in West Hollywood's Sunset Boulevard. She makes a small appearance which grows each year to date, and is especially influenced by Laugh Factory's wholesome talent and skill of Jimmy Brogan while there.
Katie has attended an insightful workshop overseen by Karen Beatton. It was taught by industry leaders, executive producer Kristin Burr, of Buena Vista Pictures, and Ann Marie Sanderlin, of Gunn Films with her major experience and Disney film credits. This began her quest for writing short films, and progressing to works on her very own family-based projects. The next workshop taught by actress Dee Wallace was a turning point for her to persevere, reinforcing creativity without limitations. That very exact day, she met producer AJ Grant, and was cast, on the spot, in her independent film "Perspective" as "Gabrielle Green" and filmed it a week later. "Perspective" was screened at a venue especially close to Katie's heart, Family Theatre on Sunset Blvd. with Hollywood history that includes James Dean, who did "Hill Number One" as well as Lucille Ball, James Stewart and Frank Sinatra for their radio talents. (And, by the way Katie is a huge fans of classic movies and music. So that was a really big treat!)
She was booked as 1 of the 3 little girls as the youngest, aggressive juvenile delinquents in the upcoming Harrison Ford film "Crossing Over" directed by Wayne Kramer scheduled for release in October 2008. Several days on this film was an chance for Katie to prove herself something other than just being "cute" or "quirky" but, choosing herself, a true Hispanic appearance for showcasing a wider range in looks for this immigrant storyline. Other 2008 works include the Eli Broad (Circus) music video set in the 1930s as the Carousel Girl directed by the versatile Mike Binder, also an actor/writer. And, she was cast as the stranded daughter in a scene with Jeremy Piven in the new film "The Goods: The Don Ready Story" produced by Will Ferrell and Chris Henchy for 2009 release. Katie keeps busy screen testing for several A-list films, and working her sides and craft with the dynamic power of actress Eily Grubba, whom she worked with previously on "Perspective." Grubba is sought after for her fierce & unlimited talents, making Katie a great benefactor of her experience. She looks up to her because Eily is the real thing-smart, talented, admired, respected, determined, and beautiful!!
Katie's attributes beyond performing are a compassionate heart when it comes to animal rights, and our foster care system for which she strives to bring awareness and improvements. She is working towards more credits to add to the ones that define her spirit. Since Katie is able to dress up and act like a boy one day, does a great Capt. Jack Sparrow, then wear curls and a dress another day, shoot hoops or dance, she's never bored. She enjoys music from all genres (listening to or song-writing ) music ranging from rock to alternative to country to Broadway show tunes. She is not just one stereo-type, but a big blank canvas in a small package ready to bring characters to life. During a music video for the successful band HIM from Finland, in November 2007, Katie did spontaneously go on stage with lead singer Ville Valo to "rock out!" It's just the beginning of her fun and fearless nature to enjoy this journey!
Hugs From Katie!
