Kimberly (a.k.a. Keiki)
Novelist
Cuyahoga Falls, OH
Writer/Illustrator

Writing has always been therapeutic for me; becoming a favorite outlet to come to whenever I was faced with difficult life issues.

And although my life in the work force began as a hairstylist,  I always knew that it was merely a stepping stone for something else that was waiting for me.
Author, Kimberly D. Goodyear - 2007

After discovering my love for writing,  I went on to write and publish 4 children's books.

I started writing books for children because I figured I would start out small and work my way to more difficult projects as time went on.

I currently have several children themed projects still in the works!

As time pressed on, I realized that I needed more stimulation, with more adult dialogue. I then began testing the waters by writing articles and ongoing columns for Cleveland University and a small woman's magazine based out of Southern California.

~ I received much praise for this work, along with several newspaper write-ups, personal interviews and more assignment requests, including a book review and interview with controversial writer, Dr. Joseph Suglia, whose work is currently in production by indie director, Steve Balderson.
Visit Kimberly's myspace blog to see review.

As my new found love with this type of writing flourished, I began getting ideas for novels and have since begun 3, with more ideas waiting in their respective places in line.

~ Thus far, these books are playing out like movies in my head; with story lines and characters that are fleshing themselves out. Each of these books are complete with individual casts and soundtracks...

I will be writing screenplays for each of these novels upon their completion.

I've also recently opened a publishing house named after my two daughters, called The Sydneykate Press - a new take from Sindicate Press, which was already spoken for.

My publishing house has two imprints:Black cat (for children) and Mystic River; (for adult swim).

Initially, my publishing house was created to just house my published work, but I then decided to encorporate all of my artistic abilities to provide services for others while in between books, with services that go on to include;  company banners, logos, illustration and editing. As it turns out, I've never been happier, or busier - which is perfect for a mind that cannot rest!

CommentKeiki, Have I told you lately how much I love your profile page? Especially your playlist :) Been crazy/busy lately but I do want to talk to you about the screenwriting and am sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner. please forgive. If you go 48hr.TV, you can see my entry in the 2006 competition. It's called The Butcher Film. We are handed a genre, a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and have to turn in a completed film in 48 hours. No prep involved. great fun. That's all I have online at the moment, but I'm in production on a number of projects currently and I'll be glad to pass them on as they are completed. Feel free to contact me at Cryptkck5@gmail.com.

peace out,

Dave

CommentHey Keiki!
;-)
Thanks for the sweet comments, girlfriend. Glad to know ya. Wishing you supreme success with your writing. I think it is awesome that you write children's books. I use to be a schoolteacher - my favorite part was directing our school plays though! But I do love the kids and appreciate your creative inspirations for them. All the best!

CommentSorry for not getting back sooner, Keiki. It's been a bit hectic lately. The book's going great so far. I had a signing to "officially" launch it last Saturday, and it was fantastic. Lots of folks dropped by, some I hadn't seen in a long time. Thanks for your comments.

Hope everything's going well for you and your endeavors.

Take care,
Sonny G

CommentHi, Kimberly!

Do you know people who find themselves occasionally in need of a "PRIVATE ACTING COACH"? Perhaps they have this big upcoming audition and they would really like an experienced pro to help them prepare for the audition?

If the above situations or something similar is something they find themselves in once in a while, please don't hesitate to have them contact me during their time of acting coaching need.

Incidentally, I also edit "ACTOR REELS" very well. Check out my profile for more info, video work samples, and peer endorsements. Thanks!
