Likwid was born as Kevin Saul Pichardo de Peña on June 15, 1988 in North Bergen, NJ. Growing up as a hispanic military child wasnn't easy for him. Using his pen and pad as his only true home, Likwid began to write about about everything that bothered him through poetry. Likwid also started opening up musically when he tought himself to play the piano and began to progress in skill with his poetry-- he fell in love with music. At the tender age of 18, Likwid got his start on the infamous MySpace, creating a fanbase simply by making music he enjoyed himself.

Born to Jermaine Pichardo and Elizabeth de Pena. As a child, Likwid experienced a lot of different cultures and settings. His father, Jermaine, was a communist leader in Dominican Republic, until he fled to the U.S. nation. Likwid's father then joined U.S. ARMY. His mother came to the U.S. with his father and varied in jobs throughout Likwid's life. Just like many, many other children, Likwid had many obstacles to overcome. He was alone a lot because his father and his mother were working often. Likwid remembers teaching himself how to tie his shoes. He says he had to learn a lot of things on his own, "I'm a quick learner. And I learn a lot of things on my own. I used to already know the things they were 'teaching' me in school."

Likwid has created a style all of his own. He doesn't try to portray himself as a drug dealer, a gangster, a thief, or anything like that. He is sort of like that "Boy Next Door" you always wondered about. Likwid has gone through many, many hardships and trials; however, they have seemed to make him stronger. After he was charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to resale, Likwid began to focus more on his music as an escape from an emotional and mental "hole" he was digging himself in. Now 19, Likwid realizes that just as he was craving for something new, something different in the hip-hop world he loved so much-- others were too. Likwid is what hip-hop is missing! With his amazing music, electrifying performances, and his handsome appearance, Likwid is destined for greatness.
