| Mark J Ferrick Actor Warren, MI Aspiring Actor/Dancer/Model...So let's do it already!
Hi! I'm a 17-year-old high school/performing arts student from Warren, Michigan. My main areas of interest are acting, dance, and modeling. I have been in my performing arts program (http://www.wcs.k12.mi.us/wcspa/) three, going on four years. I attend a regular public high school (Cousino Senior High School). For two hours of my school day, I study all aspects of theatre, dance, and performing arts. I dance three nights a week at Anita's Theatre Dance and Performing Arts (www.anitastheatredance.com/), and work part-time at my "friendly Warren K'mart."
I have acted in various plays with my performing arts program, (the Warren Consolidated School of Performing Arts, linked above). I have also competed in both state and national dance competitions, as well as an annual dance concert and dance recital.
I recently competed in the 2008 AAU Junior Olympics in two dance categories: beginner modern solo and intermediate modern duet (you can see the gold medal-winning duet at http://artspectrum.org/MarkVykki.mpg!). I took silver and gold respectively. This wouldn't seem like much, but I just started dancing in October of '07. I love to dance. I guess it just comes naturally to me. My mom was a dancer. For me, it's the best way to release emotion and express what you're thinking/feeling. I've studied all forms, but my favourites are contemporary/modern, lyrical, ballet, and jazz.
In past years, I have also competed at the Michigan State Thespian Festival as a representative of Troupe 1000. I have competed in two group musical numbers, both of which won an Excellence, and one group dance, which also won an Excellence.
I have a general love for getting better at what I do, and I've been told I'm just a natural when it comes to dance. While dance is my main passion, I also enjoy acting and playing with characters to give them depth, even if they're just walk-on roles.
Admittedly, I DO change my hair colour somewhat frequently. It's not a problem, though; I have no problem cutting or dying my hair for a part (when I was Ruckly in One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest, they butchered my hair). My natural hair colour is a dirty strawberry blonde. It is currently chocolate brown with a platinum highlight/patch in the front. I plan on keeping it this way for some time, unless you want or need it to change.
Now that I've told you about my "professional" self, let me tell you that I'm opinionated. Not in a bad way. Well, maybe. It depends. As a rule, though, I think I'm pretty nice. You'll know when I'm in a room, at least. I'm warm towards people.
My mom died when I was twelve, in December of '03. I use that, and her memory, as inspiration for everything I do. I'm not over it, and I never will be. But I'm going to keep living my life.
If you'd like to know anything else about me, or if you just want to chat, feel free to e-mail me at MarkJFerrick@hotmail.com or send me an IM on AIM (RockPaperMarkus is my screen name)! It would make my day, I'm sure! Also, feel free to add me as a friend on MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/markusbugarkus) or Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1265580007). I have a lot more PERSONAL information on those pages (ie; my opinions, personal life, et cetera). I'm not afraid of you reading it and being put off by it. Hopefully it won't change the way you see me as a performer or a person. But it might. And if that's the case, I'm sorry.
*Disclaimer: None of the songs on this page are by me or mine. They're songs that I have either danced to or would like to dance to. I find them to be good songs. I don't, however, pretend that I'm the one who made them.
