Biography
If you really want to move people, you've got to bare your soul.
Armed with an electric guitar, a heart beating for rhythm and blues, and a life story that could fill a multi-generational novel, Nikki O'Neill sings her honest-to-god truth about wounded lovers, broken homes and the unexpected, strange feelings that come when you've transcended all the madness, finally met a good man and now find yourself in a role you've never played before…

These three brand new songs - the soulful rocker "Starting Over", the country-meets-Beatles "It's Simple (But It's Not Easy)", and the Zeppelinesque ballad "Some Day" - feature Nikki on vocals and all the guitars – including lead guitar.

These final mixes are part of her debut album, which she is co-producing and arranging with Dapo Torimiro, recent keyboardplayer with Lauryn Hill and Stevie Wonder.

Nikki is simply creating her very own version of classic soulrock, with gospel-style preacher organs, wailing guitars, soulful bass lines, Beatles-style harmonies, and an intimate voice that's full of vulnerability and passion.

Coming from Santa Monica, by way of Sweden, Poland and New York City, Nikki is a cosmopolitan in the truest sense of the word. Daughter of a Polish mother and a war veteran father, who left the family with few clues about his past or nationality, Nikki moved to Stockholm, Sweden, at the age of seven. During one summer, she also lived in Poland.
"Everyone in my family has moved around the world a lot", she says. "I used to be really drawn to gypsies as a kid."

Her upbringing in many different worlds has influenced her music and writing deeply. Trained in jazz and classical music at a performing arts high-school in Stockholm, Nikki's heart has always rather belonged to Jimmy Page, George Harrison, and the Southern Soul artists of Muscle Shoals.

Nikki is endorsed by Kustom Amplifiers and Daisy Rock Guitars.  In February, she was featured on The Today Show in a women-in-rock segment with Bonnie Raitt and Sheila E.

During the same month, she was contacted by Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare, and collaborated with them as a vocalist/lyricist on three tracks for a yet unreleased compilation album.
