Mariachi music can touch you when its singer provides the heart felt emotions that everyday life inspires us. The singer must show Tradition, culture and passion and most of all make the audience feel the song, with every look, every breath and every move. The posture on stage should show authority, joy and romance .The audience should be able to relate to the singer's artistic form of interpreting Mexico's Soul "Mariachi music".Thats what "Voz y Sentimiento stands for, and that’s what "Rafael Vargas" EL GIRO DEL NORTE" stands for. ''Rafael Vargas singing style captures Audiences all over; from his country Mexico to Miami and all the way to California. From Torreon Coahuila Mexico to Los Angeles, to the Golden State Capitol. El Pueblo'', the Hispanic community here in Sacramento have named him La Voz del Sentimiento which means The Voice of feelings. ''Rafael Vargas'' is an excellent show man and performer with a Baritone sound that embraces Audiences with his joyful music melodies. His sound pays tribute to the Great Voices of Mexico such as Vicente Fernandez, Pedro Infante, Javier Solis, and Jose Alfredo Jimenez to name a few. He received the Golden Award for Originality and Voice at The Latin American Music Festival in San Francisco. He had the privilege to perform at a City special event where Sacramento's Mayor Mrs. Heather Fargo was charmed by his sound. Rafael Vargas received the Honor to open the show for the great Musician and Grammy Nominated Pete Escobedo. He was invited to represent his music in the International TV. Show, Univision’s Sabado Gigante in Miami Florida, where he captured the audience with his versatile sound. Rafael was asked recently by the Number One R & B Radio station FM 102.5, to give a special performance at their annual Cinco de Mayo Show and The Great Tamale Festival. The crowds gave him a standing ovation for his brilliant performance. Rafael has been performing at his fans request at The California State Fair in Sacramento, The Familia Festival in Sacramento, The Familia Festival in Riverside Ca., and The Hispanic Heritage Music Festival in Roseville. Rafael Vargas has performed with some of the best Mariachis in Southern, and Northern California. He's performed in many city events and Festivals all through out the Valley in support of our communities. He has worked with many Organizations that aim to help our city, such as The Roseville Mexican American Empowerment Association, Access Sacramento" The Opening Doors Organization , The Spanish Radio station La Que Buena ,Saint Patrics church and school",Tocchini and Associates, Woodland's Ballet Folkclorico Association ,El Primos and many others. On august 25th, 2006 Rafael was invited to be part of a Historic moment in the City of Stockton Ca. . He performed in the Festival de Mariachi at the Memorial civic Auditorium with the greatest Mariachi in the world, ''Mariachi Vargas de tecalitlan Jailisco'', where the crowds gave their hearts out in applause for the great performance. On September 23rd 2006 a surprise appearance on the 25th Anniversary of the Ballet Folkclorico de Woodland show held a the beautiful Crest Theatre made an impact so great that Rafael Vargas was praised to keep on singing .He was approached by people that had felt his songs so deep they were in tears thanking him and asking where his next show would be. Rafael Vargas is here to sing you his heart out, to make you feel the Music that he lives, he is here to entertain. But mainly to ensure, that the audience is having fun. He surely and proudly is ... Mexico's very own '' New Rising Star. Rafael recently released a self produced CD entitled ''Rafael'', his songs have enchanted his fans everywhere he performs.
