I like to keep myself busy.
Photographer- Yes, I'm pretty experienced. [No, I'm not saying I'm the best, by any means. I'm not saying I can never learn more.] I shoot with three different cameras:
- Nikon F: 35mm oldschool manual (and when I say oldschool.. I mean, as in, they stopped making parts for it
years ago. It's ancient).
- Nikon 5700: digital.
- Nikon D70: digital SLR.
I took three Photography courses in college. Beginning and Intermediate were both film developing classes, and by the time I hit Advanced, it was the University's decision to move from film to digital. I have been published by magazines such as
Alternative Press,
Metal Edge,
Metal Hammer,
Kerrang, etc. I have also been published by a variety of online webzines, official sites, unofficial sites, band albums, compilation discs, music videos, merchandise... You can check out some of my work at
www.sarahdope.com.
Web Designer- All of my coding has been self-taught. I have coded and created not only for myself, but for certain projects under
Warner Bros. Records and a good handful of bands.
Graphic Designer- Mostly self-taught. I took one course of actual Graphic Design while in college, as well as 2D and 3D Design classes (and, of course, all of the Fine Art pre-reqs for these). I have designed for most acts signed onto
Warner Bros./Maverick/Reprise/Sire Records, a variety of other bands,
The Street Network,
The Standard Hotel, comedians
Adam Hunter and
Orny Adams, pro-skateboarder
Tony Hawk, and
Net Music Promotions LLC (and their clientele, obviously).
Model- This is just a hobby. This definately comes after photography and design. I was once signed onto
America's Top Models (the agency, not the show). Under them, I did a few shoots, a few workshops, plenty of auditions, and a few runways. I didn't like it, so I discontinued my deal with them and went freelance. I have had both minor and major roles in music videos for bands such as
30 Seconds to Mars,
The Murderdolls,
The Sun,
Rock 'N' Roll Soldiers,
Combichrist,
Shirley Levi,
Dope... I have also worked with photographers such as
Jeff Dolen,
Peter Vincent, the ever-so-amazing
Chad Michael Ward,
Celina Muehlbauer, and creative genius
Brian DeMint (
Eyeworks Photography). I have done minor extra work in a variety of TV and reality shows, as well as independent films. I have also worked with
Halo Guitars.
Road Crew- When I go on tour (whether it's for just a small chunk of the tour, or the whole run), it's either to work merch or photograph/document. I have worked with the likes of
Dope,
Warped Tour,
Warner Bros. Records,
Mushroomhead,
Bloodsimple,
Bleed The Sky,
30 Seconds to Mars,
Powerman 5000,
Strata, and the list can go on and on.
