Shain E. Thomas, IV was born on Friday, March 23rd 1973 in the state capital of California - namely, Sacramento. The son of two J.A.G. attorneys, Shain lived with his parents in Falls Church, Virginia. In 1975, both of Shain's parents retired from the military and relocated with him to Glasgow, Scotland. This is where Shain spent most of his life. Educated at a private boarding school; Shain was able to discover for himself what he was truly passionate about - history, literature, theology, and the theatrical arts.

Shain currently lives with his partner, Matthew in Dallas, TX. Shain currently works at the Cathedral of Hope, the largest GLBT liberal church in the world. Shain is also a member of the New Members Ministry, the Usher Ministry, and a member of the Cathedral of Hope Sanctuary Choir.

As previously mentioned, Shain attended a boarding school. It was while Shain there that he gained his interest in the theatrical arts. He auditioned for everything regardless of whether he thought that he had any real chance of being cast for the part.

Shain's first major role was the character of Betty Rizzo in the musical "Grease"; since it was an all boys boarding school, all the characters (female characters included) were all performed by boys. This is not really all that unusual. Shakespeare's plays, for example, were all originally performed by "all male casts".

In more recent events, Shain completed the Advanced Voice Over workshop class at KD Studio and is now attending workshop classes at both Class Act and PAG. He is hoping that these classes will be a new string to his bow.

Nevertheless, in saying that, Shain's main goal is to go back to college to obtain a degree in Psychology with a minor in Theology. This, he hopes will enable him to gain entrance at one of the seminaries - Brite Seminary at TCU or Perkins Seminary at SMU.
