I am a student at the University of Toronto.  I sing in an alternative rock band called Taxivision.  I have a great voice I'd love to show case.  Vocal clips to come soon.

I am very versatile in singing.  I take my first influences from there.   I adore and love singing music by Jeff Buckley, Tracy Chapman, and acoustic arrangements of Classic Rock hits, especially by the Tragically Hip, Rush and U2.

 What influenced me to start singing?  Why and where am I still singing today?

I started my schooling in a convent in Kuwait.  Since 6, I sang hymns in the school's choir.  When my family and I immigrated to Canada, we found music lessons too expensive.  I quit singing.  I became distraught in school until in grade 11, where I took the chance to sing on stage at my high school's talent contest.  The nerves got a hold of me and after that night, I vowed never to sing again.  Things changed however, as the choir conductor took me under her wing and taught me to get over my fears. 

After graduating, I joined the U of Toronto Jazz Combo (with whom I recorded the above track), and shortly after, created my band.  I have even acted in a University College Follies production of "NINE: The Musical".  On an interesting note, in August of 2004, I sang the National Anthems for the Toronto Lynx Football Club home match against the Richmond Kickers.

I sing because I have emotion that I have no other means to get out.  I sing because I have a passion to do so.  I sing because I love to.
