Susie Kahlich recently completed “Misunderstandings,” a relationship comedy written on assignment for indie producer Ideal PR, now in post and set for release in October 2008.  She is currently working on “Smile,” a black comedy about the pros and cons of Social Darwinism, for producers Verite Entertainment.

Susie’s original screenplay “Scratch,” was optioned earlier this year by Cinemade Entertainment and recently attached actress Tamera Mowry (“Sister, Sister”).  Her horror script “Dead Sea” was a finalist in the 2007 Vail International Film Festival Screenplay Competition and has attached producer Ken Park.  Her romantic comedy “Marrying Mom” was a finalist in the 2006 Beverly Hills International Film Festival Screenplay Competition and the 2007 Landlocked International Film Fest Screenplay Competition and has attracted the attention of Demolition Pictures, with whom she is currently in negotiations.

Sought for her dialogue and comedic writing skills, Susie has also rewritten or polished several award-winning short films (“Dream Girl,” “Dog Day”), and is regularly commissioned by nonprofit group WriteGirl for fundraising speeches and the organization’s annual award show and end of season event show scripts.

Susie got her start in film with the English translation of the narrative script for French-produced documentary “Peru: Between the Hammer and the Anvil,” which went on to win several international awards, including 2nd Place at AFI.  She was subsequently hired to translate and develop the French comedy screenplay “1999” with director Dylan McNeil under a $5M development deal with Dale Pollock and Kai Schoenhals (“Set It Off”).

Susie has several other original projects in various stages of development, including “Twentieth Century Boy,” an original, authorized biopic of Marc Bolan, founder of 70s glam rock band T.Rex.

CommentHey,

Just gimme a nod and a wink when you're over here and I'll gladly meet up with ya - buy you a beer or 9.

If you're really lucky, I'll take you on a tour around the Sherlock Holmes Museum and explain everything in great intricate detail. Will only take 6 hours.

Tee hee

CommentSusie you superstar!

You're a 500 carat diamond! You've just saved me endless hours of stress!

It worked!

I guess this is the point where I should kneel and romantically hand you... a bottle of beer?

Thank you, Oh Wise One.

One shall not forget one's help.

Seriously. Thanks Susie!

Sincerely,

CommentHiya Susie, (Queen of Deadlines)

Glad to see you're busy-busy-busy.

Haven't used the contacts yet. I seem to be helping others out at the moment more than myself. I'm waiting to hear from certain producers too that seem to be dragging their feet (you know what it's like).

I'm gonna be contacting the ones you sent in a week or 2 with 3 features - each different in genre.

Can you help me out with something 'coz I've just noticed a problem that's gonna drive me bonkers. I have a feature written in old screenwriting software, Sophocles. I thought, all I've got to do is copy and paste it into Final Draft. ('ere we go)
Well... I did that and it's automatically copied each sentence as a scene heading. I'm like, "What??!!" What should be 110 pages is now 456. I don't want to alter each individual line if I can help it.

I'm waiting for FD to get back to me, but I wondered if you had any ideas that might help?

(clasps hands, prayer-like)

Pleeeeeeease!
