| Stephonika Actor Petersburg, WV Writer, Actress, Aspiring Director and Producer, and Very Determined
I have worked with the community theater program, WVTE, since the last months of 2004. I have portrayed Don Pedro in Shakepeare's "Much Ado About Nothing", which was altogether the best time I ever had onstage for the community--or school for that matter. I have also written, directed, and starred in my own play entitled "Shadow in the Fire" on my local stage with the WVTE. I've served as an Art Director on a stundent run TV drama for two episodes, and I am now going to be working on the script for another student project: a video game. I'm really excited! I am working on several projects right now, which are mostly detailed in my latest blog, but here's an overview of some: 1) a VIDEO GAME NOVEL. I leave it at that. ----four-fifths of the way through!!---- Want to finish by the end of the year! 3) a sci-fi script that was inspired by Final Fantasy games, so you could say that it is also quite the fantasy as well. I'm working on it with a friend back home, and I plan to pitch this project when I graduate college for my directorial debut, maybe... ----I have written a 14 page treatment for the script!! (We had the option of writing a treatment of an original idea we had for one of my classes, so I took the opportunity to make myself do it up. It's changed a little from the last outline I did, and I've already written 27 pages of script, however, I wrote those pages before the treatment, and work was stopped on it when I encountered a big story problem. Now that this problem has been resolved with the treatment, I'll be working on the script again. Plans to have a first draft done by March of next year-- so that I can take a "rewriting the screenplay" course with my scriptwriting prof.. UPDATE, I'm now working on the script again, up to page 17 reworking it. Everything's all worked out, so I should have no problem completing it by the deadline I've set.---- 4) a four-book fantasy series about wizards--a young wizard who loses himself and must rediscover himself as he faces the trials of his youth and destiny. I hope to adapt this to film after the book is published. ----Reworking the outlines for books 1 & 2!! Dunno when I'll get the time to finish up the outlines and begin work on writing again. I HAVE begun writing it again, but it's slow going since my immediate priorities are otherwise.---- 5) two other script projects that I'm dabbling in here and there in my spare time, which are video game adaptations; maybe one day I'll get to make them, who knows.. ----ROUGH DRAFT COMPLETED for one of these film projects!! It's 95 pages long. I have STORYBOARDS done for the first ten or so mintues---- I also have several projects that I began and never finished. Most were started when I was quite young, but some still have good potential and I may go back to rework them in the future. I will not disclose titles, but I will disclose the "feel" of the projects. Most are in book format, but can easy be reworked for film. I am displaying them here so that if any of you have interests in them, we could discuss my writing them up for you or something. 1 -- A Lord of the Rings type adventure complete with elves, humans, and monsters and the quest to destroy an evil charm. (As you can see, clearly needs to be reworked since it is too much LOTR.) Needs further plot work. Potential sequels. 2 -- I know no one doesn't think it can happen, but -- The next Star Wars. A sci-fi / fantasy that revolves around a forbidden love and war on the horizon with a tragic ending. This project is complete with romance, war, and mystery--and it has some of the best plot twists I've written. (I actually completed the "final" draft of this novel ages ago. Work began in 2002 on this project, and it has been the first I had ever completed, four years later in 2006. However, with countless rejections from agents and publishers alike, it has been shelved. Now, I thank that it was not published, for it still needs serious work especially in the first half. I have plans to rewrite this novel that, when first completed, was over 1100 pages double-spaced.) I have plans for this to be a trilogy, to be novels first, then to be adapted for the screen. Which each of these books, the plot thickens and only gets that much better and more intense. These are love stories and war stories, and there are as many tragic endings for the numerous characters as there are happy ones. I would estimate them being PG-13 or R material (for action violence / scenes of torture / blood and gore). 3 -- A fantasy epic. (I guess you could say that this was technically my "first" finished book. I wrote it in 6th grade and it came to 19 single-spaced pages. But I've been toying with it through the years.) The only way I have to describe this project without giving away a lot of information is to say LOTR and Legend of Zelda (video game) in the same sentence. (Likely won't write the book, just a film script.... later on.) In need of further plot / character work. 4 -- A period film. Think Pride & Prejudice with a little bit of The Libertine mixed in. I started and didn't finish this project a few years ago. The main character is a rebellious and frivilous Jane Austen type of woman named Elizabeth Davenport. Would be a romance drama. Needs further plot work. 5 -- Fantasy film. Having begun as the short film I never got to do, this can be a feature film. Men and elves are at war, and unlikely traveling partners (two men, two elves, and a wizard) go on a quest to stop the war and renew the alliance between the two races. Dragons included! 6 -- A crime thriller. I won't do the novel version of this, but it's about women twins. One's a cop, one's a murderer. And they're both hunting each other. (Hmm, that's not a bad tagline...) Since I don't know much about the crime and legal departments, I cannot write this project. The beauty of it is that you don't know which one wins, more or less, since they're identical. I want an ending that makes the audience guess who lives even after the credits roll. 7 -- A Tomb Raider-esque adventure. It's not Lara Croft, but a woman named Emma who raids the tombs. She starts off on a wild adventure to claim the treasure that could lead to big destruction. Racing against a rivalling group to claim the treasures first, she joins up with a life-long friend and loyal companions, encountering betrayal along the way. This is an awesome idea, but it's still too Tomb Raider-ish for me. It could be turned into a third TR film, I suppose, or a new game.... Either would be cool, but I like it being it's own if possible. The big difference in this is that Emma has an adopted daughter (which could be cut, I guess, if someone wanted this for the next TR) There were also, if I remember correctly, relations to her and the treasure since the treasure is something to do with emeralds, and she has green eyes, and her name is a version of emerald.... That's if I'm remembering everything correctly. But if someone REALLY likes it enough to go TR with it, I'm definitely game. Well, those are my other "under the rug" projects. No.2 is the only one at this point that I WILL NOT "give away" as it were. It's my baby. If any of these other projects sound interesting to you, send me a message, and we can talk details. If you want to collaborate on writing, if you want to direct it, if you want to produce it, I'm willing to talk and consider offers for these works... For numbers 1, 3-7.
My artistic talents include a wide variety of subjects. Portraits and landscapes are my favorites, however. I can also draw dragons, snakes, owls, birds, horses, spaceships, aliens, people in different poses [men, women, and children], skeletons, fire, and other things too. I can come up with various hairstyles and fashion for the human subjects I draw. The mediums of art I work in so far are: pencil, coloured pencil, pen [felt tip and ball point], acrylic paint, scratch board, collage, clay [modeling and painting, though mostly pots and vases]. I have also embroidered, by hand, the name of one of my books into a visor and it looks professionally done.
I have already completed one art project for a friend on here. The main subject was an owl for his album cover. (You can see this art in my photos gallery.) If you'd like me to do art for you, message me, and we'll talk. You can get in touch with John Kennedy to talk about the art I did for him, if you like. I'm sure he'd be glad to speak with you.
Preferable roles to be cast for.... Strong women and/or cunning villains.
