The Mix Room may have been first built to satisfy the work load of its busy mix master, Ben Grosse (most recently Depeche Mode, Disturbed, HIM, Guster), but the three-room world-class facility in Burbank has lately been host to many top artists and mixers including: Audioslave, Cold, Usher, MXPX, Desmond Child, 30 Seconds to Mars, Kid Rock, Hilary Duff, Eminem, and Perry Farrell to name a few.

Recent clients have included Eddie Kramer's mix of Suns Of Neptune and Josh O'Connor as well as famed music and television star, Rick Springfield has been busy in studio B with his latest soon-to-be released live DVD. Motley Crue with Chester of Linkin Park mixed a remake of ‘Home Sweet Home’ at The Mix Room to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Who else has been mixing in the house? Fefe Dobson, Marilyn Manson, Journey, Mya, Sugar Ray, Third Eye Blind, Soluna, Luther Vandross, Velvet Revolver, A Perfect Circle, Dave Matthews Band, Nick Launay, Kid Rock, Madonna, Sevendust, Filter, and Alterbridge are just a few.

Rafa Sardina blocked the 9K room to deliver Antonio Orozco's new release on Universal. "I like the well-stocked outboard and the full-service support that you expect from a solid studio like the Mix Room," says Sardina.

The Mix Room offers ProTools HD and Mix Plus systems for our clients. The Mix Room has two SSLs: an XL 9000 K series super analogue console in Studio A and a 9000J in Studio B. In Studio C, we house a Trident 80B.

Our owner and producer-in-residence is Ben Grosse, with such credits as Disturbed’s ‘Ten Thousand Fists’, Slipknot’s ‘Vol. 3: the Subliminal Verses’, and Cold’s ‘Different Kind of Pain.’ Ben is a big fan of our famed 'Lady K'. "For me, the XL offers all of the features of the J and adds powerful surround options. The XL will give me the ability to easily switch between regular stereo mixing and 5.1 for DVD, DVD-Audio and SACD. This will allow us to stay ahead of the curve in terms of current and future technology. Best of all, the XL is so similar to a J, in terms of interface and functionality, that it will integrate seamlessly into our environment."

Grosse brought in the renowned designer Vincent Van Haaff to update all three of the studio’s rooms a year ago, including Studio A, which houses the new SSL K series console.
