| Mitchell Walthour Jr. Actor Miami, FL Screenplay & Playwright/ Songwriter/ Actor
Who knew Carol City & Opa Locka could breed a talent like this? Born out of Jackson Memorial Hospital of Miami, FL on November 29, 1988, Mitchell has been performing since age five in church, reciting speeches, writing and reciting poetry, writing R&B and Gospel music, singing alto in the choir, being co. captain of the church step team, being apart of his middle school step team, helping with school and church plays, and much more.
Leadership started early, tracing back to Small Fry Pre-School, following him every grade. And middle school was a reality check to him when he had to experience the divorce of his parents', which is when he also found an admiration for writing. He said, "It's a God given gift because if I didn't know how to write my feelings down on paper, I'd be in a crazy house. I was the only child, so while I was going through my parent's divorce, puberty, the death of grandparents, the lost of unstable friends, and other things teens go through and more, writing helped me vent and escape reality." But he regained much needed confidence and sanity his years at Charles W. Flanagan High School, where in Feb. 2005, he became the first President of FAASA (Flanagan's African American Student Union), and went on to start free college early his senior year. And on May 31, 2007, the seniors took their last bow at the Bank Atlantic Center, where Mitchell walked away with an astonishing 3.9 GPA, putting him in the Top 15 of his class, making him respected in his own right.
His biggest artistic accomplishment was completing a high school stage play, "How to Get Yo' Family Back Together When All of 'Em is Crazy, Black n' Ghetto" in June 2005, which never got produced. But he still prospered to start a TV series, which is where he is now. He's currently living in Miami, attending Broward Community College, and then will transfer to FIU to get his Bachelors in Human Resources. And then get his Masters and then his Ed.D, concentrating on Organizational Leadership - to be a professor, but still pursue his acting/music career.
